A chance to brag about things I've bought, places I've been, bands I've seen and stupid things customers say...

>>> Delivery companies. <<<
This sums up why I am raving mad about home delivery companies.

I ordered a bed from Littlewoods Extra* on 19th June. In the email I was sent the next day. I was informed it would be delivered 'within 14 days'; and that is a direct quote. It DIDN'T say 'within 14 working days', therefore last saturday (3rd July)was 14 days since I ordered. On saturday I received a card in the post saying the bed will be delivered on 'tues 6th July between 07:00 and 19:00' (another direct quote).
So, today - tues 6th July - arrives. I sit at home for a while, I dismantle my old, and now unneeded bed and also throw out my sofa's cushions.
7pm comes and goes, no sign of the bed.
G&M Distributions*, the delivery company contracted by Littlewoods, obviously close their offices before 7pm, meaning I can't ask where the hell my bed is and what the fuck they're playing at. So I phone the company who sold me the bed, Littlewoods, only to be told 'your delivery is scheduled for the 8th July, which is this thursday'.
When asked why I have a card telling me it would be delievered today, I get the simple response of 'I dont know'.

Another company who deserve slating are Ebuyer*. They use Initial City Link* to deliver their parcels. Not only did I pay for quicker delivery, but when I phoned to ask why my parcel hasn't arrived - 3 days after it was due - I was told 'your parcel was delivered today and has been signed for, under the name of Berry.' Strange, the name used when I ordered was Newby, I'm sure I used my own bloody name to order! I don't know any Berrys! Well, the only appology I got was to say that yes their service was not up to scratch, but new systems and more staff are in place so it doesn't happen again. Cheers! I paid extra for a delivery which arrived on the 'standard' delivery date!

If you like online clothes shopping, here's a site you SHOULD hit. Choice offer a great range of clothes which are cheap, with free delivery and loads of special offers. They use their own courriers which seems to mean that their deliveries are within a reasonable time scale and arrive when promised.

*I would supply the websites, but some readers may feel the need to give them undeserved hits. If you want to do something stupid, do it under your own steam!
